NORTH EAST

Working with groups of girls aged 11-18 from schools and youth groups across the North East, the Girl-Kind project creates a space for girls to explore their own selves, relationships and contemporary representations of girlhood.

Our Girl-Kind celebration day is held each year to coincide with UN International Day of the Girl – a global event marked on 11 October. It raises awareness of the rights of the girl, and celebrates girls’ lives throughout the world.

A NOTE ABOUT COVID

Following the Government’s announcement on the 16th March, sadly Girl-Kind was forced to suspend our 2020 programme of in-person events.

We have been working to re-imagine how Girl-Kind North East can best support young women returning to schools post-lockdown and will be updating you as soon as we can!
